This tactile, hand-finished invite was created for the COS pop-up concept store created by French design duo Bonsoir Paris in the Milan Salone del Mobile furniture fair 2013 on behalf of our client INT Works.
The invite itself was manufactured from cork sourced from Portugal to reflect the warm tone of the wood used in the interior of the pop-up store and was printed using a specialist t-shirt ink due to the coarse texture of the cork’s surface, ensuring that the print remained solid and crisp. The cork’s bubble-form structure dictated that the edges of the invites were hand-finished: each invite was sanded and the edges hand painted to make it smooth to the touch. This process also meant that each recipient of the invite received something unique.
