Paul Smith use a number of European factories to produce their footwear range and the associated packaging requirements of shoe boxes, dust bags and envelopes, and they faced a challenge with maintaining consistency across the packaging in each market. Nirvana approached the challenge laterally, and developed bespoke materials for use at each of Paul Smith’s production facilities – so that whatever press or factory produced the packaging, the results were identical and the brand integrity was ensured. A key component of this was the development of a bespoke putty colour Paul Smith screen print ink to be used across the packaging range.
Alongside this, we also rationalised the number of box converters whilst keeping production local to each market so that transportation costs and lead time to stores along with costs were reduced.
