The DAKS London Spring/Summer 2016 show was a menagerie of Carrara marble, held in the stunningly opulent Lindley Hall. Inspired by the Art Deco period of the 1920s and ’30s, Fillipo Scutti’s designs for SS16 were elegance personified in rich, geometric prints emblazoned on airy chiffons and light fabrics. Flowing, feminine silhouettes made for a romantic yet metropolitan theme for the British womenswear line.
We were commissioned to produce the film for the show at London Fashion Week
We were asked by British luxury fashion house DAKS to produce their London Fashion Week S/S 2015 runway show film.
The event was held at the Royal Opera House, with a runway that was not the usual ‘straight’ up and down, meaning that we had to think more creatively about how to capture the required footage of both the front and backs of the garments. Studying the runway layout together with the camera team led us to identify more unusual filming vantage points – for example, using a super wide angle at the very top of the Royal Opera House restaurant.
This resulted in the DAKS film being able to show perspectives and visuals that no one else could, making it unique to any other press release.
