Designer Robin Howie asked us to apply his branding to skeleton sleds to be used by Team GB in the 2010 Winter Olympics. The athletes were scanned by Robin using a 3D scanner to create the graphic representation of their faces, this was to be displayed on the bottom of the sleds
We sourced a cast-comfortable vinyl, as this material avoids creases or sharp edges due to the heat application process. The smallest crease can slow a sled by a microsecond, which can be the difference between gold and silver medals. Amy Williams’ sled took her to win Britain’s only gold of the tournament.
