ABF The Soldiers' Charity - No man's land garden project

Dear Richard

We are so grateful to you and your team at Nirvana CPH for filming and video production of our No Man’s Land Show Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. It was a unique opportunity to tell people about our work and those we help, as well as mark the outbreak of World War One, and illustrate the relevance to the needs of soldiers today. The videos you produced will form a vital part of this legacy.

In the aftermath of such an incredible week, we can now reflect on the experience, as well as keep a record of the story of the garden for future use and benefit to the Charity.

Thank you again on behalf of all those in the Charity and the wider support team who worked on the garden.

Thank you

Over 3 months, the Nirvana CPH crew worked with ABF The Soldier’s Charity capturing the amazing story behind the Gold Medal winning garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

From Charlotte Rowe’s design studio and her Grandfather inspired designs to Chris Parrott’s life changing experiences in Afghanistan, his road to recovery, rehabilitation and new career in horticulture, all aided by ABF The Soldiers Charity.

Our 1st film captures Charlotte Rowe’s story and the years of preparation that go into designing and building an award winning garden.

Titled ‘No Man’s Land,’ it is a conceptual representation of the landscape left by World War One and serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges and hardships faced by soldiers 100 years ago, while highlighting the work of The Soldiers’ Charity helping those facing challenges and hardships today.

To understand Charlotte’s inspirations behind her designs, our client took us to the battlefields of the Somme in France. A moving and sombre experience.

We visited the communication trenches at Thiepval, walked across ‘No man’s land’ to the undulating mounds and craters at Fricourt.

Our 2nd film captures Chris Parrott’s story and how, since he left the army in 2011, his life has completely changed. He didn’t have much luck in Afghanistan suffering two serious injuries on two separate occasions. ABF The Soldiers’ Charity have supported Chris on his road to recovery. From rehabilitation at Headley Court to gaining qualifications in horticulture that have lead him to the build at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

It’s been a very rewarding journey working with an amazing Nirvana CPH crew and equally amazing client…and brilliant to see it all finish on such a high!

Watch our work and be inspired
